Fees and Billing Policy

At Darling Downs Surgical Oncology, we strive to offer outstanding surgical care, ensuring transparency regarding our consultation fees and billing processes. We understand the importance of keeping patients informed and supported when it comes to the financial aspects of their treatment. 

Our consultation fees are as follows: 

Initial Consultation: $230.00 (Medicare rebate $88.40)

Follow-Up Consultation: $115.00 (Medicare rebate $44.45)

Post-operative consultations do not incur a fee. 

In our Minor Procedure Room, the fees include: 

Punch Biopsy: $150.00

Minor Procedure/s: $275.00

We proudly welcome both public and private patients from throughout the Darling Downs region, providing timely access to specialized surgical care conveniently close to home. A referral from your GP or specialist is necessary for all appointments, and an initial consultation is required to assess suitability for our clinic. 

As for our surgical fees, Dr O'Donohue participates in Known-Gap arrangements with private health funds. If you choose to proceed with surgery with Dr O'Donohue at St Andrew's Toowoomba Hospital, there will be an out-of-pocket gap fee of $500.00. This fee must be paid at the time of booking your procedure. Our team is committed to providing you with a detailed estimate of costs and securing informed financial consent. Additionally, self-funded quotes can be arranged.
