Fees & Billing Policy

 At Darling Downs Surgical Oncology, our goal is to provide exceptional surgical care with transparency around fees and billing. We believe patients should feel informed and supported when it comes to the financial aspects of their treatment. 

Our Consultation Fees:

Initial Consultation: $200.00 (Medicare rebate $86.15)

Follow-Up Consultation: $100.00 (Medicare rebate $43.35)

Please note that full payment is required at consultation. 

Additional charges may be incurred if biopsies are taken. 

Post-operative consultations do not incur a fee. 

Our Minor Procedure Room Fees:

All outpatient procedures performed in our Minor Procedure Clinic have a maximum out-of-pocket cost of $250.00 (inclusive of a non-rebateable facility fee).  We’re pleased to welcome both public and private patients from across the Darling Downs region, ensuring timely access to specialist surgical care close to home. A referral from your GP or specialist is required for all appointments. An initial consultation is required to determine suitability for the clinic. 

Our Surgical Fees: 

Dr O'Donohue participates in Known-Gap arrangements with private health funds. Should you proceed to surgery with Dr O'Donohue at St Andrew's Toowoomba Hospital, an out-of-pocket gap fee of up to $500.00 will be applicable. Payment of this fee is required at the booking of your procedure. Our team will provide you with an estimate of costs and informed financial consent. Self funded quotes may be organised.
